I have wasted a whole day trying to make this work. I go through the wizard to make a bootable USB media and when I try to boot to it I get error it says it cannot find boot drive partition. I tried method #2 using SYSLINUX it will boot to it but it will not let me save a backup to the USB drive, a window pops up saying the trial version will not do this. THIS IS NOT A TRIAL VERSION I PURCHASEd IT TODAY AND I HAVE THE SERIAL NUMBER. So what do I do next?

Have you tried a different flash drive? Some drives work and some don't.

Hi John, yes I've tried 2 USB flash drives. And using the second method they will boot but I get that damn "Trial version" error.

When you run TI in Windows, does it get through the procedures without reporting that it's the trial version? There have been some posts about this problem. If TI thinks it's the trial version in Windows, it will create the rescue media in trial mode. If you check the Help >> About box (press the left Alt key to display the menu), does TI report it's the trial version? I assume that the trial version's "days remaining" message doesn't come up when you start TI in Windows.

If you create a CD using Media Builder and boot to it, does it work properly or does it also think it's the trial version?

Since you have several flashdrives to try with, you might try the methods below and see if any one of them works better.

Alternate methods of booting Acronis programs from flashdrives can be found here:
Create a Bootable Flashdrive Using Vista's DISKPART Program
Create a Bootable Flashdrive Using Grub4DOS

I boot and use TI and DD from USB devices all the time. It can have problems on some systems, though.

If you're done, then there's no point trying to help further. However, if you do still want help, answering the questions in post #4 would be a start.

If the trial message is coming up from the CD version too, you're going to have to contact Acronis Support and get that fixed first because TI isn't creating the correct media for you.

Thanks John, I finally have it working. I had to reinstall TI and then I had to repair it.
