I am using Acronis True Image v8 for the first time. I have always used Drive Image 7.0 before and this is still installed on my computer. I installed TI to another partition as I was interested in trying it out particularly the incremental backup feature. It installed ok and the program runs without problem but when I try to backup my C:\ drive it stalls right at the end when I click on the 'proceed' stage and I get the progress screen with 'no action' and there it remins. Can anyone suggest what I might do?. I have installed and un-installed three times, makes no difference,

    Hello jaycup,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build (786), which is available on our web site at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/. To get access to updates you should register your software first at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/. Please disable any download managers, internet download/connection boosters, etc. before the download.

Also please check if the following processes are running when you are trying to create image:

    schedhlp.exe
    schedul2.exe

If these processes are not running please start them in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2. Also please open "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Services" and check whether the "Acronis Scheduler2 Service" is present and running and the start up type is set into Automatic.

    Thank you.

    Hello jaycup,

We are glad to hear Acronis True Image works for you now.

As for DVD burning, please note that you need to use UDF-formatted DVDs. Also we regret to inform you that the current version of Acronis True Image doesn't support DVD-R, but you may use DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW.

    Thank you.
