Below is my Hijackthis log file. I also added the log file from running "runme.bat" in case this helps.

I have used Adaware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and CWShredder, but my home page keeps getting hijacked by Coolwebsearch searchx.cc. It may appear to go away leaving a blank homepage with the address "about:blank", but after rebooting and changing the address to my homepage it comes back as a different .dll. I have tried deleting all R0, R1, and O2 BHO references, but it comes back, so obviously I am missing something.

I am running Windows XP, Secure IE, and McAfee (if that matters). I have downloaded all updates from windows.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Beirhund,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D11997B8-4094-4E7D-8096-176A8BB1984F} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\fanm.dll (file missing)

    O8 - Extra context menu item: &iSearch The Web - res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\toolbar.dll/SEARCH.HTML

    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/0147c4a95267bf6be323/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

--Download, unzip (extract) to folder of choice FindAll.zip

    Open folder and run FindAll.bat

--"Output.txt" will enumerate all probable locations
and strings of the 'hidden' files, as well
as the 'bho', to identify the infection.
All previous 'bho' steps can be ignored.

--New string was added to Xfind to try and trap the
new variant, whether 'locked' or not,
and if NOTHING finds it in the report,
    another text file "windows.txt"
will be created in the folder, with the '
    binary' output from Appinit.

Post the output.txt and windows.txt (if present) and tell us if you have
    - a dual boot system
    - Windows CD
    - or a boot disk

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,

We do not have a dual boot system and we have the windows cd (somewhere). Below is the info you requested. Hopefully this works, because my husband is ready to f-disk the whole thing and start over.

    Thanks for your help!
