    XP Partition Went Bad Yesterday
XP Partition protected with TrueCrypt 5.1a preboot WDE
Fired up TI and restored primary partition
After TI restore routine completed PC rebooted
TI tried to launch its Acronis DOS-no go due to TrueCrypt (duh!)
True Crypt didn't like what it was seeing and MBR errors reported
Rebooted with True Crypt Rescue Disk
    Booted back into XP
Removed True Crypt pre boot encryption
    Then restored from TI
Currently no True Crypt on primary partition

My question: is this the right way to go about restoring a TI image when pre-boot encryption is in place?

I see a couple threads on Wilder but they seem to be dealing with more complex pre-boot issues.

    Thanks

    Hello salaryman,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please be aware that Acronis True Image does not support third party encryption. The only guaranteed way to back up an encrypted partition is sector by sector (raw) imaging. Whether Acronis True Image will be able to start and complete backing up an encrypted partition any other way depends on the encryption method used.

    Thank you.
