Does anyone know how to turn it off? I scan from the right click menu alot and it adds uneccessary time to quick scans. Thanks for your help.

    SplashKiller - http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/SplashKiller/index.html

SplashKiller lets you hide those splash screens that appear when an application is loading.

It saves you from having to:

    1. Find a 'no splash screen' option (if one exists) in the application.
    2. Modify your registry to turn off a splash screen.
    3. Hack the application itself to remove the splash screen.

There may be some splash screens that SplashKiller doesn't hide, and there might possibly be some windows that aren't splash screens that SplashKiller will hide by accident. But, at the moment, SplashKiller is hiding all the splash screens on the authors PC (which is the main reason it was written).

Any Way to Disable NOD Splash Screen?

I also use AntiVir for right click scans, but I don't know how much time you will save by getting rid of the splash screen, 'cos the prog still has to load its sigs and initialize itself and that takes a few seconds.

Yup..splash screens are just there to entertain us while the rest of the items load or initialize and they never bothered me either..in fact I give them credit for providing them if I use their products. ;)

Thanks for the quick responses everyone. I'll give SplashKiller a go.

Yeah those things add time but they are necessary whereas I don't see the need in having a splash displayed for every scan I do. I think its annoying but thats just me :)

And I think that is enough reason to stop it..since you are important.

Have a nice day kipp, hope that helps.

Such being the case, why can't the splash screen depict a redheaded chick in a teeny-weeny bikini?

well as you know it is easy to replace a splash in a flash with your stash of polka dots.. ;)

Many have done that for the Windows splash screen..while others just can't get enough of it..

This is the view out of my living room window.
