The "Security Settings" described for hash and path rule do not exist in WinXP-Home, just XP-Pro. :(

Good instructions found {HERE} but also Open this Thread; Removing AntiVir Nag Screen on Windows XP Home Edition and especially look at post #8.

Only deny "Traverse Folder / Execute" for all users, if you deny all access, update will just install a new avnotify for you and request a reboot.

I recently replaced CA's EZ-Trust with AntiVir Classic on her XP-Home System and this method works fine, it seemed to take a second open of 'Properties' to see the Security Tab as I recall.

Wow, talking about getting a little off topic.

Avira is working in several areas to enhance parts of the AV and the suite. As they test out with a thumbs up, they will be implemented. Time of the calendar year has nothing to do with it. There isnt one to them. That is the biggest farce of some vendors. Testing is the key and that applies to Avira, Eset,Kaspersky,F-Prot and a few others. Ditch the year of release crap.

let me also add that the plans for enhancing the firewall are going to be what really adds to the suite.

Now if I could only get a full system scan to complete, that would be nice. :doubt:
