Can not update SpywareBlaster

Recently downloaded Spyware Blaster 3.1 but can not connect to the update server. Checked the alternate download option, but didn't help. Turned off Zone Alarm and WinXP firewall, but still can not connect. I found previous posts here with same problem, but found no solution. Could use some help.

Check your hosts file. It's probably riddled with bogus entires. The only entrie in your host file should be this...

127.0.0.1 localhost



If you see anything else. Delete them all and save the file

You can find your hosts file in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

 

I looked at the Hosts file. At first, I got a message such as: Windows could not open this file because it needs to know what program created it. I opened it with notepad and it showed this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

If the bottom line is the content of my host file, I assume the only host file I have is the 127.0.0.1 local host.
