    Hi,

I can not create the rescue CD, with the same error message as in some of the previous posts.
Booting windows in safe mode does not solve the problem.
    The build before was o.k.
    Any idea?

    Regards,
    Jens

    Hello Jens,

I'm afraid we're right out of crystal balls at the moment!! A few details would help:

    - Hardware details, particularly the make/model of the drive controller chipset
    - Internal or external DVD/CD burner
    - O/S
    - TI version/build No.
    - Type of CD media used i.e. CD-R or CD RW
    - Transcript of the actual error message

    Regards

    Here are the details:

Version 8.0 build 786, freshly installed
    Windows XP Prof., SP2
Internal burner LG4040B as master on secondary IDE
    Chipset is Intel
Other burning software (B.H.A. GB's Recorder Gold 5.5, cdrecord ..) works without problem
    DVD-RAM driver installed from B.H.A.
The error message, translated from German: Error while burning a bootable CD-R/RW. The message appears independently from having no CD, a burned and closed CD-R or a fresh CD-R. After the message the tray opens.

I have tried different CD-R, no difference.
With the previous build there was no problem.

    Strange behaviour, this.

    Regards,
    Jens

    O.K. Thanks.

First of all reboot Windows into Safe mode and then try creating the boot rescue CD (Edit:- Oops! According to your first post you've already tried that so please ignore). If that doesn't work then try some of the other suggestions in this <thread>.

    Regards

    Hi,

    thanks for your suggestions.

What I did now is to
    - uninstall TI
    - delete manually the 2 drivers ti*.* in the sys-directories
    - re-install the soft
    - create the bootable CD immediately after installation when I was ask to do so (before re-boot).

    This pocedure was successfull.
    As I said, strange.

    Regards,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,

Glad to hear that you managed to find a way to sort it.

It never ceases to amaze me when I see the number of problems that can be overcome with an uninstall, purge and reinstall of TI. As has been said a number of times before, the Acronis Development Team really do need to have a close look at TI's install/uninstall routines.

    Regards

I was having problems with Acronis True Image 8.0 not creating the rescue disk on my Samsung SW-252F CD-RW drive. I kept getting the same error message others have reported. Tried everything mentioned in prior posts with no luck getting the rescue disk to burn. I finally tried updating the firmware on my drive. After rebooting, True Image burned the rescue disk without any problems. :D
