Right, i know i have some kind of CWS nasty. I've got the shredder and it removes the Searchx variant. Only it always, as you know, comes back. I run norton antivirus which stops all sorts of sh*T but something definately got through. I've also got adaware, spybot s&d and spysweeper. they all find stuff but even without connecting to the net, things return. There's something in my hd somewhere and i know one of you dudes can help - hayesbee@aol.com

ps i've also run BHODemon which has disabled a few suspect bho s. i can always enable them to find the real culprits.

    thanks!

Couple more techie questions for y'all...

Just wondering, if some of these nasties go after Outlook Expresss and Internet Explorer, if I am using AOL 9 and use neither, am i safe to delete them, or will AOL 9 require that IE is in place?

    Yours sincerely, hayes bee

    Hi hayes bee,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    Then reboot.

IE and OE arer such integral parts of Windows (especially XP) thet it will be practically impossible to remove them without wrecking the install.

    Regards,

    Pieter
