There used to be a "nocandy" version of free BurnAware. Any idea on where that stands?

 

I read as of 9.0 candy is no longer included. Haven't installed though.

Beware of bundled crapware, no more OpenCandy but they wanted to install Chrome and make Yahoo my search engine, as well MBAM caught PriceFountain whatever kind of pup that is.

 

lower right is the "cfree" version available - no need to load adware!

the concerning adware file is named "Fusion.dll" md5: 98e8d3541bf87b28991cadda36149673
the "cfree" as mentioned dont have that.

vt did no investigation inside but they wrote its INNO. INNO is extractable!

Anyone know what is the lowest write speed of this program? I found a discussion online that said 4x but they didn't give a source, and it was a pretty old post. Can anyone confirm? There's an option to enable or disable lowest write speed but nowhere can I find what that is. If I use a 4x disc and tick "Use lowest write speed" should it write 4x (Audio CD)?

 

Depends on disc and drive. The program tries to keep the lowest write speed possible (usually 1-2x).

 

Thanks hayc59. I was having problems with a portable CD player with anti-shock. It still skipped quite a bit so I started burning on 4x CDs with BurnAware at lowest write speed. It seems to have resolved the issue for now, hopefully it'll stay resolved.

 

You are very welcome its a great piece of work...what version are you using Allizom?

 

I was using 8.1 for a long time and just updated to 9.7 Monday. For a free program it's hard to beat.
