Help please! The microphone in my notebook is not working!! My sound drivers are installed properly, and I'm using the generic 'HD Audio rear input' device for sound/voice recording. It suddenly stopped working when I disabled some services on my Win XP system. I think I went too far, and accidentally disabled something which has to do with network devices. Unfortunately, I don't recall what this network device service that I disabled. Can somebody tell me what specific service handles the sound devices on Win XP?

RESOLVED!! To anyone experiencing the same problem, here's how I did it: 1. Right-click the volume icon in the system tray, then choose 'Adjust audio properties'. 2. Go to 'Audio' tab, click 'Volume' command button under 'Sound recording' 3. Tick the 'Select' checkbox under 'Front Mic' and max out the volume level VOILA! Anyway, thanks GlobalForce for some of those handy tips.
