I've noticed two bugs related to the firewall log.

    1. Every time a new entry is added it causes the firewall log to refresh, not only is this annoying if you're trying to scroll down, if you have a large log it creates a loading bar also.

    2. I was browsing the internet with some downloads in the background and log all blocked connections on, this creates quite a lot of log entries at one time, but the issue as above is I was getting the loading bar out of the ESET GUI. Browsing with chrome open randomly a loading bar would popup (the ESET loading bar) even though I had the GUI closed.

It might sound crazy, but i think this is caused by video card or drivers. The problem is similar to rendering.

This is not a bug, that's by design. That option is only for debugging purposes and shouln't stay enabled longer than necessary. After replicating certain issue, you should disable it so that you can watch the firewall logs properly.

Both, the first one is the result of the second.

    Well:

    1. I'm not sure why it's by design, I wouldn't be complaining unless it was unreadable, which it is, because of the speed it refreshes.

    2. Why would I want to see a loading bar when I don't have ESS open?

I was trying to view the firewall log also and it can't be view properly.

The loading log file with a progress bar is displayed and it is very slow to display.

I've tried to disable some of the logging and have smart filtering on but to no avail.

How can we view the firewall log file then to actually read it...

    Thank you
    Chuck

Do you have logging of blocked connections disabled in the IDS setup? Didn't you enable logging for a specific rule that is applied often?
