GreekGuy/cybergary - can you reinstall and try just disabling the extensions added into your browser to see if that makes a difference?

Is there a method of doing a selective install?

Just install normally and then disable the addons within the browser's interface.

Don't like sickly icons in the sys tray:D
My next question was/is - determine a minimum start config and 'add' to it.
I do not know the best route to take, there are a lot of combinations,

Log all steps as I go along.

I think I have confirmed without doubt that WSA has issues at least for me.

I am confused, as I only got the new web filter recently, after patiently waiting a long time.

I have still, yet to get it for my second snapshot.

I do not use IE, so that is ok.

However, I am using Opera, but not the new 'chrome' engined version of Opera.

I can't tell whether the new web filter is working or not, and for that matter what am I supposed to see.

It's not supported for Opera 12 but the Identity Shield still is. Only IE, Firefox & Chrome are only officially supported at this time with the new Web Shield.

If you're experiencing browser lag, could you let me know if this is happening when opening new tabs when the browser homepage is configured to be a search engine? I'm trying to narrow this down as there are a number of areas which could potentially impact browser performance, but I'm failing to reproduce anything here.

    Thanks!

Thanks, Daniel...it is a little clearer, now. So, no Web Shield, but Identity Shield, only ...In Opera 12.15 and 11.64.

This is all confusing, because nothing has changed for me that I can see. So, whether a shield is working, or not there in nothing to indicate.

One day I might, register some change that surprises me, for I will be seeing it for the first time.

For the time being I remain in ignorance.;)

I have Opera 12.16 and Identity Shield works fine I don't know about 11.64 though. But you will not see the website determinations when searching with Opera or get blocked websites as it isn't supported but the rest of WSA's protection will jump in to protect you.

    WSA Complete
    Standard Install
    ID Shield Disabled
    FF
    Webroot Filtering Extension enabled

    Open www.deviantart.com
From home page, middle-click (or ctrl click) on multiple images in rapid succession to open them in new tabs.
While pages are partially-loaded (primary HTML loaded, resources loading), new tabs do not open until all partially-opened pages are fully-loaded.

    @Techfox1976,
Why are you disabling the ID Shield?
    Thanks.

I've been trying to reproduce this and so far haven't succeeded in Firefox or Chrome. This could be due to a fast internet connection here and from how the web filtering extensions are architected, this could indeed be indicative of a deeper issue. Do you have any tips on reproducing this further on top of what you've already said?

    Thanks!

    Sounds familiar.
I also recall that if I persisted with clicking away I got a 'white-out'
Almost as if all the colours 'bleached-out'

I've many tabs open all the time in Chrome. In my experience it happens most on pages with many images in or if it has flash object in it.

Some pages just hang while loading, almost as if a long queue has been created and WSA is battling verify each request, disabling Identity Shield appears to help.

A few times too WSA memory usage was high above 500Mb. Oh and all WSA extensions were disabled.

Lastly, one time, which finally forced me to uninstall. I launched 3 applications very quickly, first one had a UAC popup which didn't show up for 3-4 minutes, as a result PC, was basically in a hung state for that time period.

As part of testing. Since I know it affects the browser, I wanted to see if it was impacting the lag at all.

As threatened I reinstalled WSA (AV) on the 1st Jan and have been without issues.
I notice however that I have not been offered the browser plugins yet:)

I can confirm this lag when Webroot Filtering Extension is active, sometimes the delay isnt percetible but sometimes it is really annoying.

Firefox seems to be the most affected browser in my machine ...

Do you happen to have any sites which cause it more noticeably than others?

    Thanks!

In Chrome it happens very often on the Wilders Security homepage, in Firefox it happens almost on every site until it is fully loaded.

In Firefox the problem is more severe because its freeze the whole browser. Right now I disabled the extensions and it seems fine.
