    Although DA Davidson had obtained a security audit two months before the breach, FINRA found that the company had failed to employ adequate security safeguards by not encrypting its customer database and using a default blank password to control access.​


    Thanks for the link, Ron. It just boggles the mind why companies fail to do something so incredibly simple. Encryption of data is just a basic step that can be accomplished with so little money and very little extra time and work. Yet, we continue to see stories like this. I just don't get it.
