This is one of those chameleon updates from MSFT.

When it was originally offered to me (w7) it was listed as an optional update. I didn't install it. Within a few days the offer changed to important. Now I have it 'hidden' and it's listed as recommended.

Installed 22 updates on my Win 7 machine.

No issues at all, although note that after being asked to reboot the machine after the updates were installed, it then restarted again after configuring.

I hide all win 7 updates except for
    • Windows 7: 1 critical, 2 important (MS15-065, MS15-072, MS15-073)

Wish there was a judgement forcing M$ to stop with the useless aggravating W10 compatibility etc. updates.

Now, I don't want to start any conspiracy theories, but I find that when I check on these updates by clicking the MS info site I keep getting this:

Maybe everyone else is checking these updates as well and the server can't cope. Funny that!

No need of conspiracy theories, all info links open fine here in IE11 as well as Opera 30.

    Earth .... occasionally
    Dragon1952 .....

    Same here !

Also , thanks for posting the earlier ghacks link ... it saves some valuable time and effort for users who are very picky
about which MS Updates they install these days.

Well, I was joking, but this has happened on previous Bork Tuesdays or roundabouts, plus I got the same with Chrome, SeaMonkey and Firefox, it's just that Maxthon is my default browser. If I try more than once I can often get through to the page eventually. It does make me wonder if people are checking more on these updates though. I don't blame them!

Adobe Flash Player for Windows 8.1 18.0.0.203 was definitely buggy, it didn't play U Tube Videos in whole screen with out crashing. First I had to go to wide screen then whole screen, sometimes it still crashed...which was most of the time.

I agree the ghacks monthly link is great and helps out. The 3 i am going to install will happen in a few days. I wait about a week now to see if any updates are reported to cause problems.

Yeah, I think waiting about a week is standard procedure nowadays.

I agree, this is getting silly. I've hidden two updates that I don't want, three times already.

It IS ridiculous... They never should have infested anyone's good 7 or 8 pc with this 10 advertising stuff... It's really unacceptable.

Almost zilch accountability for corps these days. But here & what the public wants are very different. Most have drank the kool-aid.

No problems so far this month. We did end up with that stupid Win 10 nag last month. That was an hour of my life wasted figuring out how to get rid of it.
