    Although I didn't do any boot performance measurement, I have the impression that Kubuntu 12.04 boots noticeably faster than 11.10.

    Just curious, have you tested boot times when the drives are encrypted?

    Nope, no encryption testing yet.
    And I'll need to figure out what Kubuntu 12.04 does.
