Did you make that backup from within Windows or by using the bootable Rescue CD?

Take a look at this link, as others running Core Duo CPUs are having similar problems. You may be able to get updated drivers from Acronis Support.

When restoring a system drive, even when the operation is begun in TI running in Windows, the process is completed in the native Linux mode, after a reboot. Since the existing System drive running the OS is often wiped clean prior to a system drive restoration, TI would be unable to run under Windows for such an operation.

Hence, it is essential that TI can recognize and access your drives in both Windows mode and Linux (Full) Boot Modes, for a system restoration to complete.

Contact Acronis Support, as they have an updated version of the Boot Mode of Acronis True Image that will support your recent chipset. Linux support (drivers) for the latest hardware often lags behind Windows support.

    Regards

Sorry, no, I don't have the boot rescue disc that is reputed to support the ICH8 chipset. You could search the forums for others who have tried it. But, in a recent thread, Acronis support asked someone to provide both the specific mainboard and controller chipset AND the specific model and make of hard drive(s) they used. So, chances are, it's still a custom build.

If you are patient, Acronis Support should get to you in the queque.

Patience is something I have little time for.

    Regards
