I personally like BOClean running instead of Ewido Guard as it is very light on resources! But I get Ewido to do a full system scan once a month to make sure I stay Clean!!:D

    Cheers,

Been dedicated to BoClean for years but I am impressed with Ewido so it is a tough call. I usually do not change unless I have a really good reason too.

I understand your question because if I had it to do all over again it would be hard.

Greetings mercurie.....yes...i also feel BoClean is top of the line and have a lot of faith in the people there.....Ewido is a great program in it's own right, but heavy on resourse......if they both are doing about the same i would, as i have, disable the Ewido resident scanner...................was hoping for some solid input around this...........as i suspect many are...

    Rainwalker,
Yes, I understand. Sorry I could not offer any help. A heavy resource user certainly would be ruled out on my trusty old Compaq of 2001 vintage. LOL :)

Any chance that there's some proof of this?

And by the way, sorry if I sound biased, but I'm not going to buy BOClean, ever, if there is no way to try it first.

Interesting. What proof did I miss in this regard, and how did you arrive at this conclusion, DA? Because as of now, I figured it was inconclusive, and that's why people were asking......

    Hi there.
I don't think Ewido or any of these harddrive-scanners stand a chance of beating Boclean. The reason for this is that they all come to late, scanning your HD after the trojan is already installed, wich makes it more difficult to remove.
Prevention of the installation is in my opinion always better.

Mind you this is only my personal opinion.

I read that, but i was more refering to the scanningpart of such an application.
Sorry that i was not more clear on that.
I like the idea of preventing an accident.

Proof? We need proof around here? :) Honestly what type of thing would you consider definite proof?

How about a testimonial from a well regarded expert on rootkits?

Oh well according to Stevio who is a 'close confidant' of Holyfather a well known vxer (rootkits) and maintainer of the 'rootkit treasure strove', Boclean is the best there is because you can't download it to crack and so the hackers have problems figuring out its defenses compared to other stuff. :)

Oh yeah, security through obscurity, that always works. :cautious:
