Bait and switch.. Boclean takes you to CIS. Sadly.. I miss BOClean, and with the advent of some ridiculous new threats I am seeing, I wish we had a small, targeted product like that for specific serious threats.

    Here you go...

    (a) The KNOS Project is alive and well, but we realized a couple of years ago that there was no consumer interest in what we had to offer and so we pretty much settled on providing our "build your own" toolkit and custom versions to institutional customers instead.
    (b) For the past couple of years, I've been working for Apple (yeah, those guys) in iOS and thus have to retain minimal involvement these days. They pay the bills - KNOS, not so much so lately. And no, can't talk about what I do for Apple.

Apple.. LOL.. They couldn't pay me enough to work for those elitest snobs.

I interviewed with them for an IT position, and became nauseated just talking to them, and touring the facility. The 'superior race' aspect just oozes from them. Nope, sorry, not enough money for that - ever. I feel bad for Kevin now.

Here's an article about Kevin's experience at Comodo which I feel everyone should read.

For its day (and maybe well beyond) BoClean was the best Trojan slayer of those Trojans trying to hide in your pcs memory, bar none! I do sorely miss that vacuum cleaner icon that blinked every 10 seconds telling you that it had just scanned your pcs entire memory (again, it did a complete scan of the memory every 10 seconds!) :(

After some fishing, it appears Comodo's AV tech has...."influences" from Eset. :D

    Comodo smells.

I assume the code theft Kevin mentions is Eset. The gutting of BOClean is a tragedy. I really miss that program. Kevin should come out with something new, an adjunct to AV's since I can't stand MBAM or SAS anymore, and I'd feel much better running something alongside my AV.

Right now I go for UTM/Router based solutions to augment AV's. (Trend on ASUS or Kaspersky on ZyXEL, and ClamAV on Untangle.

I'm presuming that Kevin is still working for Apple ? Well, good for him to be earning some decent $ at last, he deserves it after years of 24/7/365 Total dedication & not much return with BOClean. KNOS was/is a nice solution. but unfortunately not for the masses ! I wish him & Nancy All the best.

    Comodo & Meligh = Bad news !

    "Comodo & Meligh = Bad news !"

I hear that CR. I guess that whole deal is why I won't use comodo products.

as far as boclean goes. I think he was making good money with government contract and then the nasty rootkits came out and they would not let him touch the kernel. which is something he needed to be able to do. back then he said the gov never allowed him to touch the kernel and so I wonder what they use today? they would have had to change their stand on that in todays world. since he sold the rights to boclean to comodo (at least I think he did but not sure.) he would have start an all new program if he wanted to get gov contracts back again. that is what I am thinking anyway.
