Yup, I posted at the forum, sent an email to Detections AND filled in a Support Ticket.. LOL!

It should be fixed very fast indeed.

Hi, folks: Out of curiosity, I installed GSS 1.005 from their web site. My BoClean 4.24 w/ signature date 06-16-2007 10:17:03 did not flag any of GSS as such. Could data base be updated already or it will take a while for BOC to detect such trojan ?

The FP is still there. Drag GSS.exe into the BOClean Control Panel in order to activate the file scan feature, and you should see something like this.

Shutting down GSS, then relaunching it should prompt BOClean to cry foul over it.

I am also using 4.24 and just installed the new Appdefend Alpha GSS_setup_1200apha.exe and don't see the FP with that one. Are you guys using a different GSS.exe file?

I'm still running the old version...

Incidentally, according to Comodo support the FP ought to be fixed as of the next database update, in about two hours time.

How do you get to that file scanner... I never knew about it.

Exactly like I said: launch the BOClean Control Panel and, from Windows Explorer, drag a file anywhere into it, and there you are.

    However, quoting Kevin McAleavey:

Will it only pop up if its malware?? Because I drag and drop something into it... and a window pops up for like half a second... and then dissapears..

Yup, that's correct. :) ... although, as Kevin said, even if BOClean's filescan won't recognize it, it could conceivably still be malware, and be detected once it's running in memory.

You can easily test the file scanner by downloading the harmless Eicar test file from here: http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

Download eicar.com from that page, save it to disk, then drag it into BOClean's Control Panel. BOClean will recognize and flag it as malware.

Note: first you'll need to disable your Antivirus' real time protection, or it will grab it first!

Ah ok thanks... But yeah it didn't pop up because I was throwing in safe files.
