I gave BPS a 2-day trial a while back. It hassled me more than a newly-installed HIPS -- even worse than D+.

But -- each to his own, as the lady said when she kissed the goat.

Does it still not bother to register itself as a security program with Windows Action Center?

I included BPS in a test not too long ago and was pretty impressed actually. It did better than many.

Did another test tonight...not quite the same result. I will post on my blog tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, has anybody tested how well BluePoint Security detection ratio is ,if it is installed on an already infected system. I am just wondering how well a non signature Av solution, that is using the cloud would handle it.

    Best Regards

Well it kind of is.... Prompting is not allowing the unknown to automatically run/execute, so it can be thought of as denying (temporarily) or suspending, just with the added bonus of prompting for user verification. :D

I lost faith in Bluepoint Security after their sham live comparison test video feeds, where BP infections mysteriously vanished

    Hi Jmonge.
I don't know if you remember, but a few months back BluePoint were running a live comparison test, where video feeds showed the competitors being bombarded with malware in real-time.If memory serves me BPS was running against CIS,NIS,Prevx and others.

The idea behind it was actually rather good as they were using some form of search tool to find and run malware on the various test systems.Whilst observing the BPS feed on one occasion there was clearly a Rogue AV running and the results counter indicated 2 infections, this was observed by a few people. The next time I looked there was no record of those infections and when asked BPS claimed to have no knowledge of them.

Not a huge issue given that all vendors show themselves in the best light regarding tests, but it was deceptive and made me lose faith in the company somewhat.

I checked it out. Good review. You're in trouble if you click allow without knowing what you're allowing.

Isn't it at that point the AV and Heuristics should kick in and rescue the user?
