    They consider this a no no:http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=32200

    So go into the main Window>Settings>Settings Overview>AntiVirus>Shield; then you can turn off the on-access scanning.

    Thanks for the info. Sadly, if there is not a way to turn off auto-delete, that is a deal breaker. I refused to use a program that deletes my files without asking or giving me the opportunity to mark it as safe.

    And I just ordered some licenses based on testing 2013 beta. I guess there's always Ebay.

    For on-access scanning;

    AV settings>Shield>Custom>Actions>Move Files to Quarantine

    For on-demand scanning;

    After a scan has been chosen and completed, the program will offer a Choose Actions.

    If any threats are detected these actions will be;

    Take no Action/Delete/take Proper action.

    Overall, if your system is clean, I would first deselect scanning when first installing, then turn autopilot and autoscan off.

    You can now set up your scan preferences before carrying out the first scan.

    thanks, the above steps to setup to program to quarantine instead of delete was helpful. The issue now is, as soon as I go to the quarantine and "restore' the file, it is instantly quarantined again. ugh What a PITA!

    Not sure if this will help you; http://www.bdantivirus.com/bitdefender/antivirusplus/html/howto.fp.html

    Bitdefender definitely need to look at the default settings for their Guard/on-demand/auto scanner.

    This is a nice program with great protection, but I am finding it a little overbearing. After about 11 days testing it, I don't think it will last the remainder of the weekend on my hard drive. There are too many solid competitors that cause me less issues.

    Edit: It's gone! On to the next AV. :)

    Definitely a great deal on Roboscan. I good a great deal on my DB licenses I just got also, but looks like I won't be using them. Damn you auto-delete!
