    Hey Guys,

BitDefender called me yesterday and asked if I want to be a reseller. I use the free version as a backup scanner at home and it seems to be pretty good. What I want to know is this:

Does the paid version scan any faster than the free version? o_O

I ran a full system scan with BitDefender (free) this weekend and it took almost 2 hours to scan my whole system. NOD scanned it in under 30 minutes.

    Just curious....

    Thanks :D

I have the paid version and your right the scan takes a long time, however it leaves no stones un-turned. Nod32 is extremley fast to say the least, and if not better in detection.

  3. Hmmm ....Just goes to show you, how different machines are.

BD scanned about 10 minutes faster than the last Nod32 beta on my beasty.

I agree about NOD32. I'm a reseller for it as well, but I thought I would at least consider others ;)

Yes, 2 hours...and that was just for my C: drive.
NOD scans all three drives (in-depth) in less than 30 minutes.

I was just wondering if BitDefender Paid version scans any faster than the free version?

  8. If I remember correctly ...BD paid and free scanned the same on my machine.

    Last NOD beta.. 32 minutes
    Using now
    Kav MP3 ..........57 minutes trial
    BD paid............19 minutes

Like I said earlier....Programs sure vary of different machines

    Depends on the machine...
My "well established" machine takes over 8 hours for KAV to finish, since it has so many files (plus packed files). (AthlonXP 2000+, 512mb) Actually no AV takes less than 2 hours to finish on that machine at max settings.

On my PC, BitDefender Free edition took longer than KAV (eScan actually) to finish the scan :'(

I wonder if subsequent scans by Bitdefender on the same computer would be faster? For example the initial scan of my system with A2 was one hour. Subsequent scans increased in speed until the last scan was thirty five minutes.

I don't know if pitting Bitdefender Online against Nod which is on my computer is fair. But today Bitdefender scanned 134,938 files in 41:49 while Nod scanned 137,702 files in 26:33 . My first scan with Bitdefender Online yesterday was over one hour.
