The previous post showed the large download {~ 1.4 Megs}, this is the persistent error I'm getting, now about four or five times. I even tried going to FTP Site and downloading {cumulative.zip + daily.zip}, and that does give me an increased signature count, but I still get the same thing {error} when I run the Program Updater. I surely hope Softwin fixes this; I only run BD as manual backup to NAV but no offense to anyone, I have never encountered this type of update problem before. This is not a good thing. Maybe the download is corrupt? Anyone have any ideas?

I have a feeling it is just due to the siza of the file and BD's amount o users, etc. the only way I knew I had a big one for my BD was the GData download was about 1.4 MBs, so as stated above you might want to just give it a few hours or so. HTH

Hmmm..that is a huge one. I can't get it either. Tried repeatedly and it claims it has downloaded and installed. But the systray icon doesn't disappear for a few seconds and I don't see the splash screen so I know I didn't actually get it.

Mine appears to have downloaded the update, but then does not install and says that an error occurred while performing the update.
This has been going on all day. I have the paid version.

Boy, it seems that every few days there I have some sort of problem with BD.

I suspect that I am not going to renew my license.

    EDIT
I just tried to get the support chat line, but 5 were ahead of me. I emailed them.

Just when I lean towards BitDefender, this happens.

When I lean towards NOD32, something else happens :'(

    I'm cursed.

    OK Guys here's an update:

I just spoke to Sabina from Softwin Tech support. The update problems are currently being fixed. All users should try updating later.

    Regards,

Firecat, I am more and more leaning toward Avast when my license runs out.
NAV gets a lot of badmouth, but in the 5 years I used it as my "only" I never had one second of problems. BD has been a headache in the approx 3 months I have had it.
As I have posted in effect, I believe that any one of the freebies combined with good anti spyware, an AT, and firewall will keep me as safe as any combination with the top rated AVs.
I think that is the way I will go.

EDIT Glad you were able to get through. Thanks for the update.

    Jerry
