According to Bitdefender press release 'coz lots of problems with Antivir 7.
They try to protect antivir users which didn't get any updates and/or having massive problems with Antivir Version 7.

 

The website is Deutch so i tried with http://www.bitdefender.en/24free/ instead and got a blank page.

Is this offer available in English or only German ? If not English, why ? If it can be had in English does someone have the correct link.

Yes 98 too, so if everything goes ok, i'll be more than happy to trade up from Antivir. It's a shame as i was very content with AV6 and never had any problems with it. AV7 seems to have improved a lot, but the updates are still touch and go.

It did not install on my machine in English but seems to still work. Now all I need to do is learn a few German words to navigate through the GUI LOL

well if you all want a english version for free then ask the supporter why they have not released the free version on english also.

Ok you guys..I download this baby myselfjust 10 min ago.

if you have any problems with the german language let me know..I am dutch..but I also speak german.

here is allready a basic tranlsation:

for the buttons..zurueck = BACK
Weiter= NEXT

Abbrechen= Cancel

this baby also has real time scanner.....aswell. BD is indeed a good AV produkt.
Antivir updates here go fast and no problem...but then again I live in Europe...close to Germany. So I don't know how that is for american guys.
One thing i noticed before was the fact the updates with BD are usualy rather large.....if you compare that with average updates of AVAST!...or NOD32....that is.

Another strange thing is that the original posters aid it was free for a year...well after installing this program here says the licence key is valid untill 9th of september 2006....so that is only 7 months.

Just edit the Win.Ini file and this is the trick

 

delete Install, Install2, Device, Device2 from [Internal] - reinstall and bingo

 

So you reinstall over the current German install after deleting info from INI file?

Does this trick make it a English version?

WOW. I am suprised...Last time I checked any modification to software (unless allowed by producer) was illegal. This special BD version is available for the German market only.

Please refrein from any modification/hacking talks and posts.


PS. This post is not directed on HB’s post about wrong license date modification (which appears to be legal and backed by BD developer) but to those people who are asking about English language conversion.

There is now "WOW" and no modification. That's a workaround even posted by bitdefender to avoid the wrong 1 year license if you had bitdefener already installed before. So please kindly refrein from accusing me here without the proper background facts.

 

Please, I am not accusing anyone. These kinds of topics usually go downhill. We had one in the past. If they want this version to be available to the whole world they would indicted that. It’s a marketing technique and it’s a regional thing.
