I must have seen an older comparison table. When I look now, I see these four differences in the two version that I listed:

    1. Parental Control
    2. Cloud Antispam
    3. Two-way Firewall
    4. File Shredder

I don't know if the file shredder is different in BIS as compared to BDAV Plus, but it is in Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2014. It was also in BDAV Plus 2013. I use it most every day.

    See images.

The first image is running shredder from the context menu and second image is running it from the GUI.

    One of my favorite tools.

There appears to be a problem with BitDefender Internet Security 2014 and EMET 4.0. I got an error message that bdapppassmgr.exe was unable to start. Also, I'm unable to open BitDefender SafePay (Application error message obk.exe). Other than that, it looks quite nice and feels very light. I like it.

    Win 8 Pro 64 bit.

    Later...

    Bob

Good Evening! I'm very hesitant in releasing confidential info into the e-wallet...I appreciate and understand SafePay...but the password storage...and credit card info...is Verboten! Maybe it's my past history in the employee of One of The Great White North's Venerated Financial Institutions...in dealing with Credit Card's...and Fraudulent Activity...that makes me think twice. Just a note of Caution...be Careful! Sincerely...Securon

I am considering doing a 30 Day Trial of Bitdefender in the near future.

Does the Bitdefender Installer allow you to Install/Uninstall different components. An example would be if you Install Bitdefender Internet Security and later decide that you only want Bitdefender Antivirus Plus.

    Thanks in Advance.

I have BD Internet Security 2013 with 222 days left. Will I be able to install BD Internet Security 2014 with my 2013 key?

Also, will I need to uninstall BDIS 2013 before installing the BDIS 2014?

Anyone having update problems? BIS 2013 version updated a lot! With this version I've had 2 updates today which were 3 hours apart and my last update was almost 4 hours ago. Version 2013 updated a lot! more than this.

Anyone knows if the new version's firewall can be configured to alert to any new connection?

    Hello zmechys,

I had the same question and asked it over at the Bitdefender forums -http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=46297
It is probably not the answer you are looking for.....

I'm now noticing significant slowdowns during web browsing. I'm also noticing a little lag on the system.

Trying out Bitdefender Total Security 2014. My biggest gripe so far is that, compared to the 2013 version, the widget and the gui look very "cartoonish." Looks kind of like something a grade-school kid would draw/color. I MUCH prefer last year's graphics! I suppose if that's all I've got to gripe about... :D

Keep a check on how often it's updating by clicking 'events>updates' There's a few people myself included who have noticed it's only updating every 3 hours or round about that period of time.

Interesting. I'll keep an eye on it. How often did the 2013 version update?

Well.. I used to manually click update in version 2013 as I have done so far in 2014, and it wasn't unusual for BD 2013 to update 3 times in an hour by manually clicking update.
