I loaded up BIS 2010 on my old 512MB machine (XP). To be honest, the resource usage seems to be better and its sits very quietly. HTTP scanner unlike Gdata doesn't pause elements and download them in background. That's good :thumb: Scanning my USB drive took over 50 min first time, the 2nd time it was just 7 mins !! That's again good....

Cons, the GUI has a lot of lag in loading and after clicking. Also GUI (to me) is like those Fake AV. Cranking up the new B-Have/ActiveVirus Control causes jitters, It runs fine on medium settings.

    Hi Stefan,

Lol. I wouldn' know. You tell me, because you are the "AV Expert".
I just merely copied some translated text to english from one web site.
Then still wasn't offical released the 2010 line.
Some PR is always good i guess to those who don't understand anything about AV"s. And first results from google search are from "pr-inside [dot] com. So you can figure it out.
Good to hear that something is changed and something is good in the new product.
Well, first comment on their beta site even before testing in the "Suggestions for new beta " thread was " Less GUI, more product".
    That tell's everything.

Sure the 09 product didn't recieve great reviews but the GameSafe product was nice and lightweight and was awesome for gaming!

I'm sure 2010 will be a vast improvement.

I have Kapsersky 09 on my main home computer and GameSafe on my gaming Box.

    Both work great!

I just tested it! It works great on windows 7! BitDefender is very good with the detection rate of known and unknown malware! I'm very satisfied with it!

    Hello,

I just took BD 2010 AV on a walk through malware domain list and it failed to catch quite a few of them. To be honest so did panda's cloud. Also, BD 2010 is horrid vs rogue antivirus variants. This is just a very small sample but it does illustrate that even good AV solutions allow things to get pass the barrier and that the best thing to avoid these types of detections is to educate the user.

    Hello,

You are correct but there was one that did not trip up at all.

I dont understand how can they call it new.
If it is the old same engine i dont belive it is much improved.

But one thing is for sure improved the name they changed Advanced Scanning Technology instead of Behaviour Scanner ;)

    Hi,
I am so happy with BitDefender 2010. I am testing it and for the first time that i see a BitDefender so low in CPU & Memory, i can say that's faster than NOD32 or Avira...
I think that they put a great work in this version...
    Thanks to BitDefender's Engineers.

I've just installed BitDefender and checked over the tray icon and noticed something weird.
    All the time it says:
    Can someone else confirm this?
I think that everything is working just fine, but still seeing this is not pleasant surprise from BD.
I guess that quality insurance of product @ BitDefender Company again is sleeeeping.
It can't go without some bugs or something missed.

    Hi MrGSM,

I can see myself in my task manager that everything looks good, but have you tried to move the mouse cursor over BD icon to seen what message will you get ?

The advanced scanning technology is a different thing from what I've read. I haven't used their 2009 but their Internet Security 2010 works very good on w7. It's also fast and I've heard their previous versions weren't. It seems to be rated pretty high in reviews..so I can say I'm pleased.

Come on guys, this is a very good suite!!! I’ve been using bitdefender for quite a while now and I haven’t always been happy; however the software has always been very good in catching malware; if they had bugs, they solve them eventually. I participated in their beta program and the released version is different from the beta!!

They have to be doing something right with other vendors adopting their engine.

MrGSM ,DO NOT USE BitDefender :thumb: ,use something else.

The engine is good ,the problem is with the freaking bugged interface.Lets see if the Net Framework based one will be better in time.
Since they changed BD 10 interface everything is messed up.

Just because you think so it doesn't mean it's true!
How about giving some more details? do you have it installed? the "freaking" interface works for me!! smoothly!
it's a new version, they might have bugs..but I suggest you try it first before you post "use something else!!!"

I m trialing BD 2010 and the same cronic bugs ,that were present in BD 2009 continue.BD services that never recover, unless you reinstall BD, or crashes while you re connection is heavilly solicitated.

A new womenized interface in BD 2010 Antivirus, but the same crashing experience.
I ve waited for their recovery (as a fanboy) from the BD 2008 debut ,but now i have come to my limits.
They never fix anything and they dont give a damn if you report the problems.
