best way to retrieve the serial ?

I had a hard drive crash and don't have access to my hotmail account that my serial number was sent to. Whats the best way to retrieve my serial in this situation ?

How does that work when I've had to REPLACE the hard drive and REINSTALL windows ?
Surely that would only work for a working copy of windows with Look'n'stop installed with my serial.
As I said in my first post I've had a hard drive crash.
I have a FRESH install of windows XP now and through my own fault I have lost my password to my MSN/Hotmail account and Microsoft isn't really interested (and I understand that as I have forgotten my password myself) in helping my get my hotmail account back.
