I used to like geoshell alot. If was different looking and I actually was able to configure it without too much trouble. Plus, it took away that annoying memory leak I had with explorer.

Vista Inspirat, very fashionable. The version 1 has some problems with some sw because it changes the shell32.dll; I don't remember if the version 2 solved the issue.

I used the original PowerDesk, then ExplorerPlus for years. I've evaluated others sych as XYplorer, xplorer2, Dirctory Opus, etc., but dropped them in favor of an elegantly simple, portable piece called a43: http://www.primitus.us/a43/ You have to spend some time with it before you begin to appreciate its simplicity, quick launch mechanism, built-in zip, etc. More and more, I steer toward portable apps like a43 that don't touch the registry. And, unlike a lot of software nowadays, a43 is solid as a rock, almost entirely free of software quirks or defects.

heres an example of the search both on all files and hidden files. in effect the same exact search. so it is a much better thorough search.

    Windows search finds 13

    Xplorerfinds 28
