Seen lots on info in the forums about how a BartPE disk is a big improvement over the Acronis restore disk -- at least, for XP. But I'm using Vista now. (Yeah, I know it has its own machine backup and restore function, but I want to be able to use ATI anyway!)

The BartPE Beginners Guide only mentions using XP. Has anyone tried to create a boot disk for Vista -- and have it work?

Lot of the comments on this forum about restores using ATI mentioned how ATI boot disk took hours and hours, but using BartPE, the time was drastically reduced. So, has anyone tried a Vista restore using Acronis boot disk and had it take hours and hours?

Haven't actually tried a restore using either ATI or Vista. Am anxious in find out what has happened to others before I try myself.

You need a machine with XP and a valid XP license in order to build a BartPE disk. It will work with all operating systems you just have to use XP as a source for the build.
