    this app is not stable.
    quick test;

    1- i found 2000 malware files, they collected within last 7 days
    2- i copy them. now there are 2 folders which are included same 2000 smples
    3- i scan them with baidu
    4- result is weird. look at images

    Yes it's rather confusing as it is now. Avira is afaik officially used, but no one have mentioned anything about Kaspersky being used in BAV at all, officially I mean.

    But I guess we will find out wich engines that is used in BAV sooner or later :D

    It uses Kaspersky's signatures .... Don't you see them on the screenshot ? ....
    Manzai also said to me that he saw a similar sign as Rising ...

    My friends that are testing Baidu, said that if you turn off Avira's engine, the detection rates are higher.
    Go figure.
    Still, Baidu AV tends to "freeze" during removal of malware.

    BTW, I remember an old version of KingSoft AV which was using AVIRA + KingSoft cloud (own engine) + Kaspersky so maybe it's legal just wait to see (at least their final version and a forum..).

    It will be interesting to see wich engines it actually does use, for sure I mean. :)
    Though imo it shouldn't be that hard to include that type of info on the website.

    Hi:
    It seems baidu antivirus 2013 crashes and is incompatible with sandboxie. It will not allow sandboxie to function or turn on at all. Also it seems it is very incompatible with shadow defender as well, because the pc goes into a crash loops and will not bootup.

    On the other hand the baidu pc faster without any antivirus and just the utility works well without issue. So the issue is the antivirus itself.

    I just hope kingsoft become alive again. It rules over baidu. No issues with any applications, etc..

    A new beta version of Baidu PC Faster has just been released.

    It includes an antivirus component called Cloud Security. Surprisingly there are no options for configuring real time protection, and no options related Avira. It would seem it is an on demand only scanner, but with the claim of "Online protection against every new threat" on their webpage, it probably does have on access detection too.

    It now includes an app store which quite a few programs to download, including antivirus software such as Avast.

    It also includes a few other new features, and you can get it here.

    I'm liking it so far. It does a bit more in terms of optimizing and fixing things than the previous version did.

    I've install the previous version on a few computers so far and I am impressed. It does a very good job of identifying startup items that are not needed, and the registry cleaner hasn't given me any false positives yet, even after enabling the scan categories which are disabled by default.

    This new version does still not support Windows 8, however it would seem that the it does support 64bit on Vista and Windows 7 which PC Faster + Antivirus didn't support.
