    Try using XP disk management to initialize the new drive so that Windows can see it. Then try the cloning. Recommend that you clone from the TI Rescue CD rather than from within Windows.

    If booting to the Full Mode version from the TI CD, have you tried the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST thread?

    Another option (if both drives are internal) is to try the Safe Mode version of TI. It may recognize both drives when the Full Mode version won't.

    Hello wfyd2002,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are sorry for the delayed response.

    Please be aware that there are two approaches available:

    Clone Disk - migrates/copies the entire contents of one disk drive to another;

    Backup - creates a special archive file for backup and disaster recovery purposes;

    Please take a look at this FAQ article explaining the difference between Clone Disk and Backup approaches in more detail.

    Actually, Clone Disk approach is usually used to upgrade the hard drive (e.g. install a larger disk), while Backup approach is basically dedicated for the complete data backup and disaster recovery purposes.

    Please notice that cloning process only works between physical drives, not between partitions of one drive.

    If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
