Bad sector of Hard Disk

    I am trying to back up my C drive using Acronis True Image 10. However, it reports that I have several bad sectors (sector numbers reported) and so I am forced to cancel the backup.:oops:

    Can Acronis Disk Director repair these bad sectors? I would like to know before I buy it.

    DD says it can, though I'd run chckdsk - chkdsk /r note the space between chkdsk and / reboot and chkdsk will repair your damaged sectors.

    Thanks Bodgy, your suggestion (chkdsk /r) worked well and I have now backed up my drive. :D I wonder how easy DD would have made this, not that chkdsk was difficult!?
