Bad luck with DrWeb live CD - any recommendations

  1. I'd like to keep an AV rescue CD on hand in case things go pear shaped (or someone else needs to be disinfected)... So I downloaded the latest DrWeb live CD version 5.0.0, burned it, and booted from it to give it a test run. Well, it booted fine, but it wasn't able to update prior to scanning.

I later tried it again with another CD, again using the latest image... And this time, trying to update the AV scanner caused X to freeze. It looks like DrWeb just doesn't like me.

So, of the various AV rescue disks out there, which would you guys recommend? What's best for cleaning out an infected system, besides DrWeb?

i like the idea too. but i've never done it because i've always assumed the software obviously not able to update itself while running from a cd? which means you have to update and burn regularly inorder to keep up to date. am i wrong here?
