backup won't kick in!!

I
create image...
next I select "C" partition,
then next window is where my dvd drive is shown as the backup medium, I dont touch anything in the folder tree menu on the left, next window is select Append or Full, I choose full.... then select compression - I chose normal, then ... nope no need for a password.. then comments.. then,... shows whats to be done... from C to CD-RW Drive then.... Proceed... shows the progress, and total progress... but there aint nothing going on from this point onward??
Nothing!
What am I missing??

 

I thing you need to backup to an image file first on your hard drive then burn that image to DVD
