i installed a new redhat 5.3 linux server, 2 harddisks (120gb each), standard partition-layout (lvm) that generates a 5gb boot partition and the volume.

    this is what trueimage finds:
when i start my trueimage script (cron job)
    or
i get a set of *.tib files of 62gb in size - out of 38gb of data from the harddisks! no compression?
when i try to extract a file (with trueimage on windows) out of a volume from the set it fails, better it lists no file in the volumes, different from backups of normal partitions.

was it a mistake to install the new server with volumes?
isn't it possible to extract one file out of a volume-backup?

oops - i found this on an acronis website:
that means when a harddisk crashes i am not able to restore the volume "on the fly" - of course from a boot-cd?
    holy **** - i have to reinstall with normal partitions ... :(
