I get this error when trying to create an image. This was happening with Accorins 8 and now that I've upgraded to 9 the same thing happens also.

Cannot create the image of the logical drive C: because it is currently in use by running applications or the logical drive contains bad sectors.

Operation with partition C: was terminated with code 458,785 Unable to create volume snapshot.

I don't believe I have any bad sectors I just ran a diskcheck and rebooted and still the same problem. I never used to have this problem just sometimes.

I should also mention this was a clean install from 8

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Steve

Well it's to bad acronis doesn't seem to have time to answer my questions. I've paid and upgraded to version 9.
I guess I will have to look for someother means to back up my information. For now I've gone back to Norton Ghost at least they have support.

    Hello sborder,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response. Please install the below update with disabled logging and see whether the problem persists.

    http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_s_e.exe

If the problem does persist, please enable logging by running the update once more, reproduce the program failure and send the c:\snapapi.log file with Acronis Report (please see Acronis Help Post for the instructions) to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread? We will certainly help you with the solution.

    Thank you.
