Imo, the launcher is useless (and consumes RAM for nothing) for someone who use a single Avira product in a single device.
In your opinion, do you think this would be better (I think so)? Ditch the launcher, make Avira Browser Safety or anything else optional within' the installer and Integrate product status, as well as license management via Avira GUI.
Yes, especially in paid versions. In free meals, they can do whatever they want. ------ ^ this. Re the license management: imo, Avira uses the necessity of the license management via the launcher as an excuse in order to force the usage of the launcher. Anyway, the discussion about launcher is pointless because: Seems that decisions in Avira already taken.

If the majority don't like it, I would think that would be enough for Avira to change course, but I guess not. It's unfortunate if you ask me.
is it the newest version? and its not the installed program detected its the .exe install file. the installer has been detected for a long time now due to open candy
Majority...... Imo, the tech users don't wan't the launcher for sure, but the average ones they all don't even care whether there is a launcher or not. They aiming at the majority (non-tech) users and they want to use the launcher as a platform in order to shell (via the launcher/AV) some additional products = ........

i have the imgburn installer in a folder. avira detects opencandy in it. i exclude it, avira stops notifying about it. i attempt to move the file elsewhere (outside the scope of my exclusion) and avira detects it. something must be screwy w/your exclusion cfg or install. to be clear, i'm not installing it, i just have the installer sitting in a folder.

Would someone explain to me how APC detection is set to right now?? I had some undetected files yesterday and they were picked up by APC on re-scanning the folder with luke filewalker...today i had a new sample no APC on demand detection...I quarantined the file with avira and when i re-scanned it inside the quarantine..APC found it...How does this system work?? By the way this APC is really strong and its quick in detecting newly released stuff.

Okay I know that I was wondering as to why I don't get APC detection as often when I scan on-demand as opposed to getting APC when file is scanned in quarantine or on-execution??

AFAIK, the APC is always on during the Quick scan / when a file is scanned in quarantine / on-execution.

In order to get the latest update i downloaded the latest full offline installer free (213 MB) http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-free-antivirus Did repair/update and installation finished succesfully .... with that stupid launcher Now i'am confused, not sure if i will stay with this! Launcher uses 50,6 MB thats more than AV itself
Thankfully, still possible to use Avira Pro without the crappy launcher..... But not for long, AFAIK launcher is coming in Avira paid too......
Yes i did try this, required for free AV. I think we have to let it there or you can dump the whole thing... but today i see that launcher is changing from 2,1 MB up to 69.3MB. - When i hover ABS with mouse arrow it still say install, but it is already installed in Chrome and Firefox Damn after computer startup : 2 minutes the launcher icon is gone and returns after 20-30 seconds, crap,buggy! Did a fresh install of 17.273 but its still with that launcher Hmz.
cant belive how much faster browsing is now with browser safety thing gone also... How do you uninstall with Revo? comes up the same forced or??
