Well just installed and everything working just fine. The suite is running very light. Just only few visual bugs which will definitely will be solved.

The GUI is somewhat polished but is almost similar. Just some new colors but in all looking good. The web guard is improved it doesn't slow down the net while surfing which v9 did so that is also good. Don't know much about firewall very much responsive type. Will be testing against samples that I have collected for months. Around 3000 malwares hope Avira performs well.

Are you testing Avira AV or the Avira security suite ?

Are there any new features ?
I'm using the Avira security suite, and while it has great heuristics/signatures, there are no other features like a HIPS.

Have certain bugs been resolved ? For example, Avira services stopping out of the blue, the (non-customized) scan using the default settings ?

I am using Avira Premium Security Suite

    • Avira AntiVir ProActiv

    • Improved User Interface

    • Time scheduling in the Parental Control

    • Generic malware removal and the new AntiVir Guard

    • Optional email footer

No Avira still stops responding during on-demand scanning. The Next BETA will be released shortly. Also some known visual GUI bugs will also be fixed.:)

They don't need to add stuff they need to remove stuff... like the update pop up. They should do what Avg did and move the pop up into the GUI.

But it is 32 bit. I love Avira, really do. But they are creating a prduct that is even behind Dr Web in 64 bit compatibility. No offense Dr Web because yours is near completion. But they have had almost a year to get their so called pro-active module 64 bit ready and they failed. Personally that is all I need to know when it comes to how astute the technical side of their employees are, or are not.:thumbd:

yeah that to , but also the most important is how it can protect your pc so that i don't need to lose alot of time how to get rid of a malware that is undetected or hard to disinfect, it means how well the protection in detection are in this new version compaire to the old ver9 of avira.

Btw, my Avira suite sometimes stops its services, not during a on-demand scan. Typically after a (re)boot, sometimes out of the blue. I have to reenable the Avira desktop service, then the rest. It's one of the drawbacks of Avira.

This is the most common answer I get from them whenever I submit an error

I have to say that it does solve the issue. Still haven't encountered any non responsive window of avira:)

    I'm beta-testing the Professional edition.
The GUI remains similar. Updates are trouble-free and this beta has been stable.
I really like what I see so far.:thumb:

I beta tested the Avira free and it had the proactive module in it. @the Tester, is the webguard module improved? ie, does it still lag on video and speed test?

The Webguard is much better than the previous versions when I tested avira I didn't felt any slowdowns while surfing. I had some other problems though so I uninstalled it.:cautious:

I tried it with YouTube videos and there wasn't any noticeable lag.

    Hi,

The drivers has to be signed by Microsoft to run on 64 bit system.
As it is for the moment a beta version, driver is in developpement.
I don't believe it is Avira policy to sign a driver that could be changed several times depending on issues found in the betatest of the 32 bit version.
And because signing a driver must be done for each new version of it, it costs money and time.
So it is done when the driver is stable in terms of changes.

    Hi icr,

Why not installing directly the last beta build instead of installing an old build and starting then a product update ?

Not impressed so far with this beta. I can't really tell if the proactive module does anything at all. Not sure the spam filter is working at all. Early beta so time will tell.

Then try to do custom installation untick on proActive module and install avira
