Will the HIPS be available in the 64 bit Versions as well when 2010 is released?

whats 2010? they dont use a yearly naming scheme, lets not start... or at least i hope not, hate when vendors start releasing new version every year even if ther isnt any point to it.

this is where it may get interesting. the beta for the proactive modulke never made it to 64 bit. I dont see how they can include in a new version of the suite and it not work with 64 bit. Yes I can, it is unfortunatly becoming the norm for half operational suites to be created.:doubt:

Anyone manages to get this let us know if they changed the GUI (Screenshots if you can). I'm kind of curious and would be a welcome change after the last 2 years of looking at the same thing.

Rofl they reskined the current GUI. Meh whatever as long as it still performs as good as the current version.

The Secure Start is much slower but overall Avira is still very light on system resources. Uses around 100MB RAM, at full scan the CPU goes up to 50% but nothing bad. Has some bugs but hey it's beta.;)

100 meg is light? The two other suites on my PCs use between 5-20 meg. Maybe you are talking CPU?

I am installing now. One of the windows has all the options in German. Anyone else get that during the install?

Interesting that they dont need new fancy GUIs everytime a new version is released.

    What's the avshadow.exe?

And does Avira give something in return for beta testing (like free premium license)?

Who knows mostly its random sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Frankly if you like the product enough support it by buying a license but never expect something for nothing.

Beta testing is not nothing. As long as you are providing feedback that is. ;)

typically, with open betas u dont get anything really... closed betas on the other hand sometimes give rewards.
