When installed, default 24 hrs but you can change it to what you want. I have mine every 5hrs.

I have mine every 15 minutes. Doesn't really cost more bandwidth since they usually don't update that frequently anyway. But at least, you have a few more minutes earlier protection from a zero-day.

i have mine every 4 hours...

*FYI - you may want to change your update display mode to "invisible", otherwise the update box will pop up everytime you update*

I set mine to check for every hour and I sometimes leave my computer on for a few hours at a time. It usually updates in the early morning hours if you live in America.

I usually start or reboot my computer 3-4 times a day. As a rule I manually start Avira's update first thing after seeing the desktop. I've noticed there are at least 2 - 3 updates daily.

I like to go with 90 minute intervals.

I try to keep mine to a 120 minute schedule but i often find myself constantly moving the interval up or down.
