    Hi,

I am conisdering these AV, like to know if some body have experience to know how would have better in these aspects:

1.- Less impact in the System ( want the more light ).
2.- Good detection rates, a lot Email and Internet traffic.

    Thank's

I've used both, and Avira not only has better on-demand and heuristics it's lighter on resources than NAV07. Don't get me wrong, NAV07 is still a fine solution for some people, and as we all know everyone has an opinion on security apps. ;)

I've run both and think both are excellent products and both will protect you (this also depends on your habits). Avira ran better on my notebokk and Norton runs better on my desktop.

My point is that which works better for you depends on several variables. Both offer trial versions, so you could make an image with neither installed and then install and try each for a week or so to see which you prefer.

You may also want to try the trials for KAV 6 and NOD32 (yes, I know you didn't ask about these but one of these four excellent products will work and work well for you).

I have to say the same thing, try both and see how they work on your machine. Some works better than others on some machines.

It is nice see that Norton is now becoming a part of the "using either/or" type posts :)

How would you rate both with regards to false positives?

I don't mind the false positives so much. Antivir still has better detection than Norton IMO and is lighter. I'm going to compare the new Eset and AntiVir suites. Only if those don't turn out will I choose Norton.

each to the own opinion, which is why i like forums, sooo many debates.

but, dont be mistaken by ram usage and system performance in terms of the word 'light'.

Just something to be considered when a product attempts to expand it's user base especially with respect to "average users".

i think Norton would have the edge in regard to false positives. but you could also lower the heuristic setting of Avira.

Something is wrong here. This is not the usual "love/hate which one is better" thread. o_O No bashing either. o_O

Let me be the first to start if off. I hate Norton. Avira is the best. No wait, maybe it's the other way around. Oh hell, I can't remember. o_O ;) :D
