There seems to be a mistake on the Avia site. I can purchase a one year licence for the same price as a two year (total $27 USD). Can anyone else confirm this?

    Look here.

The only thing I see is that the 2 year is about $44 and not $27.

    Best,

Well that is quiet cool. My mother used Mcafee because it was free from the University. But since I graduated in May I am not supposed to use it. I need another licence and then this happens.....sweet!

No thanks, I am find with the PE. I will never switch from LnS. I can confirm that I was charged $27 and that the licence is valid for 2 years. Buy while you can.

Yes, now I see it. Strange. Wonder if they will honor it?
I still have a year on KAV, and the 3 year Systweak license for KIS, if it works.

I seem to be pretty flush on licenses. Of course, I don't collect them like some I know.:D :D

Personally, I would not take advantage of an error on the site.

    Regards,

Mabey it is a deal they implemented before or without marketing for it, or perhaps it is just a technical glitch. Either way, it would be bad business practice to not honor it.

No. It can't be some deal they had and haven't spoken about. Everything about it is a mess. Did you look at the three year deal. That one is totally screwed up also. Says $45.95 for three years and then you click on it and it says $54.95.

It's tempting but seeing how everything there is a mess, I don't think it right to take advantage. Plus, if you do the 3 year, you pay more than is quoted on the first page. The errors need to be fixed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not espousing taking advantage of this apparent error in pricing, I'm just saying that it would still be bad business practice to not honor those sales, as customers were misinformed and misled by what is likely unintentional false advertising. I'm not trying to paint this as a bad thing, its probably just a mistake or glitch of some sort, and obviously Avira makes an excellent product, but as a principle in these situations a business should honor these sales.

Looking at the site, this looks correct to me, even after hitting "buy"
    PE edition:, 1 year > 20 euro, > 32,,95 > 45,95 euro's
    Suite Edition: 1 year > 39,95 > 65,95 > 95,95 euro's

It appears to be fixed but it is VERY confusing still if you are an American and you see the first page quoting prices in euros and stating that the contribution to the Auerbach Foundation is INCLUDED in the price and then you go the second page to actually buy it and there the prices are in US dollars and are quite different and a $7 fee is ADDED to the price as the required contribution to the Auerbach Foundation. So, that fee is not included in the price unless you are buying it with euros yet I, in the USA, see the euros price on the first page not dollars price.

Avira needs to redo the store pages so that the first page for USA customers shows the overview of the prices in US dollars not euros. That way the first and second pages will agree.

Or give every costumer the opportunity to chance currency at the first page.
Going to the second page to buy, the only thing that's changes after switching currency,

Avira Premium Security Suite for XP - 2 Years €60.95
    $80.95
Contribution to the Auerbach Foundation €5.00
    $7.05
    Total: €65.95
    $68.03 $88

    For what, being honest?
Remember that anything you have or own can be taken from you in one way or another, including your life. The one exception is your integrity. No one can take that, you have to give that up.

Why would we want to take advantage of an obvious mistake on a website? Would we also ignore an overpayment of change at the grocery store?

Whose honor is worth only the difference between the correct price, and the error?

    Jerry

It was a sarcastic remark my friend. They do not deserve to be taken advantage of.
