Got an email about my free license too. Avira has one of the best detection rates available.

18 months free Internet Security license = Win :)

I don't think this version has ProActive technology for 64 bit systems. Does anyone think it is still as effective as other AV's with behavior detection used on 64 bit systems? Thanks.

    Hi:
It seem the avira IS 2012 did poorly in the latest youtube test done by languy that I am afraid of using it. They have lost effectiveness in my book. Now languy tests on 32bit win 7 and if it did this poor on 32bit then surly maybe do worse in 64bit win 7 since some options may not be 64bit ready.

It would be nice if they had a on demand free version without proactive features just for scanning a pc , since its detection for on-demand is great according to av-comperative.

Avira has been crappy against zero day threats for a couple years now.
