    I have to test it.
I guess the file is secure to use since Avira keeps the thread alive.
Brocke have you monitored the inbound/outbound activity?

The've always had a Legit manual download and update :D

I've used it many times before when the connections to the updates from within the App could be slow, or fail. For a while now the've greatly improved their servers/bandwith etc, so i havn't needed to use the following. Good to know it's there though, just in case :thumb:

At least a wise decision to remove such software which are obviously vs avira eula.
    although its easy to do
    - load update file
    - stop avira incl. services
    - decompress files
    - copy files
    - calculate update timer (seconds since 1.1.1970 2:0:0)
    - put result into registry
    - restart avira again

if avira has a self defense turned on that never works!

on the other hand - im not sure if update.exe can be called from outside (commandline).
or write an autoit script to let avira do it "manually" after the def was loaded. (remote controlled)
