    Hello Forum,
Installed Avira premium but can't get Outlook Ex to work when the mailguard is activated, Plus Antibot is not in the configuration under mailguard.Have tried to modify no luck, and reinstalled twice.

    Hi Macstorm,
I don't have the Antibot function in Mailguard configuration to use, I have installed the program three time and still the Antibot function is missing.

I am telling you, that is a typo on Aviras part. It isnt in the AV only the suite. Leo will see this in the morning so they can correct it. Sorry.:doubt:

trjam knows that program pretty well. If someone I knew had a problem with it he would be one of the people I'd send them to. You should accept what he is saying.

I just installed Avira Premium so i can check what you're saying, and i can confirm your statement. There isn't specific settings for the antibot feature, although it's present in the program. I'd say it's built in the MailGuard module.

Additionally, along with the avira's note from my previous post, if you hover over the "scan outgoing emails (SMTP)" setting, you get this description:

in the suite there is a specific module for antibot where you enter your server name and email address. So I can tell you, it isnt part of the AV regardless of what you read or think. Scanning for bots is completely different then what antibot is for.

Let me clear this up. There is a difference between detecting bots and the feature of antibot which is the following:

    Mailguard will make sure
    1. that only your email address is in FROM field in all outgoing emails and
    2. that only your SMTP server is used to send emails
    Everything else must be blocked.

And this feature for Mailguard is only in the suite.

    this forum is biased!
and what about the people who purchased, wouldn't they be expecting the features it was advertised as?

But also, the actual importance of it, say compared to having left the Guard out is like apples to oranges.;)
