AVG Free version updates

Are the definition updates in the free version of AVG automatically installed or do you to update them manually?

 

You have ONE automatically update per day,at an hour of your choice.All the rest,manually.

 

My AVG free updates 3 times a day.

And there's no such option.

 

Really?Let me doubt about your 3 times a day,unless you have some "pulse updates" to your free version.(or maybe if you reboot your PC 3 times a day,as AVG checks at boot for updates).
No settings for an hour at your choice?Look closely your AVG settings.
PS.Maybe my English is not good at all,and i should say "at a time of your choice"...

 

My mistake, there is the option you mentioned.

But My AVG free does update 3 times a day, with no reboots needed.

 

Well,at the moment i didn't have AVG free on my system,switched to another AV 2 weeks ago.But during the last 3 months when i've had AVG free installed,i use to update it manually every 3-4 hours.I remember at least 3 times when at startup AVG was updating itself and late in the night (this means after aprox 14-15 hours) i was checking and no update since startup,had to do it myself.
Maybe someone with AVG free installed could share her/his experience too.
