I'm new here even though I've been lurking and reading for a while.

I run into people all the time who say how good AVG free is and there's normally a story that goes along with it about how their local computer expert took program X off and replaced it with AVG free because its the best and its free.

However, the reports at Virus Bulletin don't look too helpful to this argument.

So my question is: is there another free antivirus that is better than AVG free for the freebie seekers or am I reading too much into the Virus Bulletin test results?

    Thanks.

    Hello msingle,

If I was asked.... you should be more worried about trojan horses than viruses and worms, if only you got already uptodate AVG running full operational that is alright. But I was not asked  and I am not an expert so please ignore this posting and keep your eyes open for " Bluestars", "Greenstars" and "Redstars" especially.

    be safe ~Ari~
