It would really help if you post the content of the message you see when you try to install.

I take it when you say 'try to install it' you mean AVG and not your new choice.

I'm really sorry for that. Yes I can't get Avg Antispyware to install. I am running XP Pro Media Edition.

Just thought I would report back that I have the problem fixed and here is how I fixed it:downloaded and saved setup file to desktop and I then restarted and went to safe mode and run the setup and it installed fine. Everything is working great. Hope maybe this will help someone else out with a similar problem!!

    Hello kitagal55,

thank you for your report we are glad the issue is solved now. Regarding the installation error could you please verify following settings of the installation package ?

    - right click on the AVG installation package
    - choose the Properties item from the menu that will appear
    - go to the Compatibility tab
    - check if there is the compatibility option enabled - if so, please
unmark this option and confirm by OK button
    - the installation should now succeed in the "normal" mode

    Thank you

    Best regards,
