    I see.

But still, according to this a comparsion between the (two PAID versions) the PAID stand-alone AV does still not include the ID module:D http://www.avg.com/eu-en/home-and-office-security-comparison

AVG you have made me really confused nowo_O

Well, it seems another year of avoiding AVG and uninstalling it from machines. Without the identity protection it's near useless, honestly.

Oh, yes, I've read that review. But, I decided to go at Softpedia check things out and saw that. ;) It was funny. At the top there's a 5/5 award, then at bottom a 3 star review for, supposedly, version 2011. I found it to be funny/awkward. ;)

Have you read any of the posts here? Everyone that has installed it has IDP. If you look closely, it is in the picture of AVG free on their website.

AVG Free 2011 *does* have IDP, according to my contact at AVG.

We're looking through the 2011 release notes right now, figuring out what's new, so we can work this in to our forthcoming AVG Internet Security 2011 review.

Well if that is correct, then the AVG web-team must have made the two comparsion on AVG's website really wrong.:)

I'll ask Tony Anscombe when he's next online.

The comparison chart is really poor. For example, reading through the 2011 marketing information, there are loads of new features in IS:

AVG Smart Scanning (New for 2011)
AVG Protective Cloud Technology (New for 2011)
AVG Community Protection Network (New for 2011)
AVG offers one of a Kind Social Networking Protection (New for 2011)
    etc etc.

    Chris.

Well, charts say one thing, i can say that IDP is physically present as i've installed it and it's there. So whatever the charts say, IDP is there in its full form.

Me too, but if the free version includes IDP is there any reason to buy AVG AV? :doubt:

Well, you do get rid of the annoying popup, you get more regular update checks (every few hours opposed to 24 hours in free version), faster update servers, Online Shield and better tech support. To some, this might be good enough list of reasons.

well that sucks as it was probably avg's best product...I have 3 licenses for the stand alone and only one activated so I just hope I'm able to download the IDP somewhere for future use...and I wonder if the stand alone IDP will be upgraded at all in the future for those with current licenses?

what processes are you all showing in the free version with IDP? Here's a pic of my processes for IDP stand alone.

Brocke, once my old XP PC died and I bought a Win 7 PC, I switched to another AV program (which shall remain nameless to avoid an A vs. B comparison in this thread).

    Thanks for asking! Take care.

Do you mean the banner at the bottom or is there a new popup? :doubt:

I disagree, it's lighter than the previous version on my laptop :) But the online shield seems to slow down internet traffic a little bit ... :(
